Wet N Wild Max Volume Plus Mascara

Mini review time! Today is the Wet N Wild Max Volume Plus Mascara; you can pick this mascara up at any of your local mass retailers or drugstores and it retails for about$ 4.99. I got Wet N Wild Max Volume Plus mascara because a friend recommended it. I have never tried any type of Wet N Wild mascaras, but I have tried their other products and really love them so, I figured why not! Wet N Wild is always so affordable but high quality. After hearing extremely good things about Max Volume Plus I knew I had to try it! What really stood out to me about this mascara was the brush, it is amazing looking! It kind of reminded me of the brush on my Benefits Cosmetics They’re Real Mascara. The brush starts off thin at the base and expands thicker. The packaging of this mascara is adorable; it is a bright pink with white accent writing. I used this mascara completely alone and I was blown away!  I would have to actually say that this is the best drugstore mascara to use alone that I have used in a long time! Max Volume Plus not only left my lashes looking extremely long, but also super thick after only one coat! The difference is out of this world! This mascara is long wearing and there is only slight flaking by the end of the day it (after about 8 hours of wear). It was pretty easy to wash off. This would probably be the only mascara that I could see myself wearing alone and not having to layer with other mascara.  That is how good it is! For the price point of five dollars, you absolutely can't go wrong!  This is something that you need to pick up!  I rate this mascara a 9 out of 10!

Cover Girl Full Lash Bloom- Day 2 Mini Review Series of Drugstore Mascara

Cover Girl Full Lash Bloom

While walking through CVS, I saw a huge display of Full Lash Bloom Mascara, and I can’t lie, the packaging definitely caught my eye!  You can pick Lash Bloom up at any local drugstore; I paid $7.99 for mine at CVS.  The mascara tube is pink with silver Accent writing with little flowers all over, it is so girly and totally screams spring! I haven't used Cover Girl since high school so I was a bit weary. The brush looks like a standard mascara brush and it is on the thicker side. The one thing that I did notice about this mascara is it has a bit of a fruity floral scent, actually smells really good! The first couple of times that I used this mascara, I made the mistake of using it as a second layer over top Rimmel London Lash Accelerator and I thought it worked pretty well.  Then I started to notice by the end of the day that my eyelashes were looking a bit droopy. I felt like the mascara was heavy for my lashes and pulling them down. I continued to use the mascara for another week by layering it. Finally one day I decided to wear it alone, and I've got to say it was very disappointing! It doesn't really make my eyelashes look any longer, if anything they look clumpy and short. Trying to layer this mascara was a total fail! It made my lashes look clumpy and almost spider like! This mascara reminded me of something that I would've used when I first started wearing makeup and didn’t know better.  

While wearing Lash Bloom I noticed that throughout the day, the mascara flakes extremely bad and it actually smudges and runes off my lashes.  I have not had to deal with mascara that smudges this bad for at least the last five years. The one plus is that it is easy to wash off and you do not need to use makeup remover of any kind. All in all, this mascara works decent if you're going to use it as a layering mascara, but alone it's a complete dud for me.  Rating Lash Bloom mascara would be a 4/10 with half of those points going towards the packaging! Over the next four days, my blog posts will be mini quick reviews of drugstore mascara. I always get compliments on my eyelashes and asked if they are fake (Which they are not, I do not wear falsies) I think for me personally a good mascara can go a long way! So, this week I'm going to share four of my most recent drugstore mascara purchases and how I feel about them. Before we dive into the reviews, I do want to mention that for my every day mascara routine I do layer at least 2 to 3 coats of mascara on (usually different mascaras).  I always start with the Rimmel London Lash Accelerator and go from there. For my review purposes I did use each one of the mascaras completely alone, so I could get an honest review of how the mascara worked. Make sure to come back everyday to read my review! Day 1- Maybelline Lash Sensational

Let's talk about a mascara that I have been loving, Maybelline Lash Sensational! After reading many remarkable reviews of this mascara, it was something on my list that I had to pick up. You can buy this mascara at any of your local drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, mass retailers such as Walmart or Target and even Ulta. I bought mine at CVS for $7.99, be on the lookout because a lot of times Maybelline products will be buy one get one 50% off. The first thing that made me drawn to this mascara was definitely the packaging. The color is gorgeous!  The only way I can explain it would be a rose- muted-mauve-pink color with black accent writing. I have been using this mascara nonstop for the last month and I have to say that I truly love it. Lash Sensational has been my go to. The brush is unique with being curved. The bristles are slightly larger on the top then on the bottom; it feels like it hugs every single one of your lashes without missing one of them! The formula of this is buildable and extremely black. What really stands out to me with this mascara besides the brush is how long lasting it is! I even slept with it on and woke up the next morning and my eyelashes looked just as perfect as they did the day before (of course I don’t recommend sleeping with your makeup on but we all have done this before). On a normal day it has lasted me over 12 hours with no touch ups! Pretty amazing! The only down fall with Lash Sensational is it hard to remove, you definitely need eye makeup remover, soap and water won’t cut it. To me, this is a good thing! Who wants a mascara to fade off throughout the day?  I did not experience any flaking or smudging. While this mascara does lengthen and thicken your lashes, I feel it does make them thicker more so then longer.  I would rate an 8 out of 10!

Too Faced Hangover Rx- Review and swatch

I have finally got my hands on the ever so popular Too Faced Hangover Rx! I have wanted this primer since I saw it, but after going into my local Sephora and swatching it, I was not sure how I felt about the consistency. After reading many spectacular reviews I decided to finally get it and give it a chance. You can buy Too Faced Hangover Rx at Ulta, Sephora, TooFaced.com or any other retailers that sell Too Faced products. You get 40mL/1.35 fl. Oz for the retail price of $32. I ordered mine right off the Too Faced website.

When my package came I was so excited to finally try this! The box the primer comes in is even adorable! It is baby pink and white with black and gold writing. The actual tube of Hangover Rx is in a pump form which is great; it helps keep the product sanitary and mess free. Also with having the pump you are able to disperse the perfect amount out. The primer tube is also baby pink with the same black and gold accent writing. It looks beautiful on display on my vanity!

Now, let’s get onto the actual review of the primer. I have used this every day since I have got it and went from absolutely hating it, to thinking it was so-so, and to finally thinking "where has this primer been my whole life?!"

You may wonder how did I change my mind so drastically and I'll tell you why, it's all about how you use the product. Everybody is different-different skin, different makeup routine and I just had to use the primer the right way for me. I want to start off by telling you a few things about myself and my skin, and what works best for me. I have normal skin, not dry and not oily. My skin can become a little dry in the winter but I've never experienced any dry patches. I wear a full face of makeup daily which includes moisturizer, primer, foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush and highlighter (as well as eye and lip makeup), so I need a good primer to lock my makeup in place for at least 8 hours. My favorite primers were Becca Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, Smashbox Photo Finish primer, and Benefits Porefessional. That's a little background about me just to help you understand where I'm coming from.

The first day I wore the primer I put it on more like a lotion. I think this is because of how the formula is, it's not thick like other primers I've used and literally looks like a lotion. I put way too much on! I let it dry for about 5 minutes and applied my makeup like normal and thought my makeup looked pretty good. I was impressed.....until I went into the car and looked in the mirror and to my horror I had patches of makeup missing all over my cheeks! I was mortified! My makeup was separating and I was on my way to the mall with no way to fix my face. I was so embarrassed! I hated Hangover Rx!

 I decided to give it another try and not use my normal moisturizer and just skip that step in my makeup routine. The next day I used the primer but just like all of my other primers, a little bit and not some huge amount. I let it soak into my skin for about 5 minutes and applied my makeup like normal and my makeup looked beautiful! No horrible missing patches and no makeup separating. I really liked Hangover Rx! 

The last few days I have begun to love Hangover Rx! I'll tell you exactly how I'm using it. I am now able to skip my morning moisturizer and just use the Hangover Rx! I have been using a small amount of Hangover Rx about one full pump; I then dot it all over my face and press it into my skin. I do not rub it in because when I did that, it felt a bit chalky and even flaky. Pressing it into my skin works wonders! I have then been applying my Smashbox primer just on my T- Zone. This combination has been perfect for me! My skin feels so hydrated, like it never has before and my skin looks flawless. I also notice how my makeup stays in place a lot longer.  I want to note that this is not a pore filling primer and why I think for myself using another primer on my T- Zone works well.  Just make sure when you use this primer you let it dry for about 2-5 minutes.

I love how my skin not only looks more hydrated, but feels it as well.  I think that's what I love most about this product. I could just imagine how great this primer would work on dry skin! On the box it claims that after people have used this that "100% said makeup went on smoother, 100% said makeup looked more radiant, 100% said skin look more hydrated, 100% said that skin had the appearance of a full nights rest" Down below I have included pictures of what Too Faced has wrote about Hangover Rx. 

I can completely agree with that! Just make sure you don't use a lot or you will end up looking like a hot mess like I did on the first day! :))

The nice thing about Hangover Rx is that it is Silicone free, made with coconut water, electrolytes and probiotics! It's like goodness for your face in a tube! It has a nice light scent where you can slightly smell the coconut but nothing overwhelming. The texture feels smooth like lotion. It is not running or drying on your skin. A little goes a long way! I know it will last me awhile! It leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and hydrated! I have also included the ingredients in Hangover Rx.

Too Faced Natural Matte Palette-Swatches and Review

Too Faced Natural Matte palette is the perfect go to palette  . It is great for everyday wear and quickly becoming a staple in my makeup routine. This palette is amazing to wear alone and use with other eyeshadows or other palettes. Since it is matte you will find that it has great crease and brow bone shades!

I saw the Natural Matte palette and my first thought was come on Adrienne do you really need this? I have all of the Naked palette and only about 500 neutral eyeshadows, do I really need more?! As you can see the answer is yes!! Of course I do. We all do! This is a complete palette of matte and neutral eyeshadows, in a cute case?! Sold!!

Like other Too Faced palettes of this size, it comes in a sturdy tin case that is magnetic. The outside is adorable with a cute lace design. The inside has a nice sized mirror and comes with a Glamour Guide. Too Faced created three rows which consist of three looks (just like their other palettes).  They claim that they are “3 steps, 3 looks in 3 minutes” (I don't know about you but I'm not getting my eye makeup done that quickly!) There are 9 gorgeous shades in all, the looks are Day, Classic and Fashion. The colors are:

Row one "Day"

Heaven-very pigmented bone shade, "the perfect brow bone shade"

Cashmere Bunny-this shade has been my go to crease color, it's a nice taupe color and blends beautifully

Sexspresso- a deep rich brown. Beautiful to deepen up looks or create a brown smokey eye. This color can help you transition from "day to night"

Colors are left to right-Heaven, Cashmere Bunny, Sexpresso no edits, no flash in Sunlight sorry about the different coloring of my skin its just the way the sun was shinning  

Row two "Classic"

Lace Teddy- a nice peachy coral brow bone or all over the lid color. It is unlike any color I have seen in a palette before. It comes off very soft and feminine

Strapless- a soft-warm brown color.  This color is very versatile and can be a crease color or lid color

Risqué- another deep brown color but not as dark or rich as Sexspresso. This comes off as a nice cool toned brown

Row three "Fashion"

Nudie-this color is similar to Cashmere Bunny but a little bit lighter. It's that perfect "nude brown" that you could wear daily with any look

Honey Butter- one of my favorite eyeshadows, this reminds me of peanut butter it is a warm orange- sweet brown color. This color is gorgeous!

Chocolate Cookie- beautiful warm deep brown that will look amazing on all eye colors and really helps make an eye look more dramatic!

Too Faced makes the best palettes and this one is no exception!  I have nothing bad to say about this palette. There is no creasing or chalkiness. I have worn this palette for two weeks straight, either alone or in conjunction with other eyeshadows. There are countless looks you can do and the shadows all have great color payoff, no smudging and long wearing.  I did experience a little fallout with the darker shades, but nothing heavy. These shadows are creamy, but not too soft, and little goes a long way! I use a primer with these shadows and they have lasted all day long!

These eyeshadow palettes are very compact.  I always find myself throwing them into my bag. Since they are not bulky I get a lot of use out of them! Too Faced Natural Matte is a must and can go from season to season.  Have you tried this palette yet? Thoughts? Any looks you have made using this palette? Mac is beauty-Notice Me, Real Doll, Reel Sexy and Silly swatches and review

Another awaited Mac limited edition release: Mac is beauty! This collection did not disappoint at all! I picked up four lippies from this beautiful Spring collection. There are 12 lipsticks in total in this limited edition collection. All of the lipsticks retail for $16 and while limited edition are not sold out yet! Which makes me think this collection may be here for the season! How exciting is that?! Makes me pretty excited and now I will totally be picking up more!

Notice Me, which is by far my favorite lipstick I picked up in this collection!  This is a stunning light lilac color. This lipstick is a luster, which makes it nice because you can build the color and it's not a “so in your face” kind of a purple. Next, Real Doll which is another luster but very buildable, it is a wearable baby pink that feels so nice and buttery on your lips! This color you have to build up, really build up! I am not joking when I say this, it took me about 15 swipes on my lips to have a noticeable color. Once you layer it on, the color is gorgeous! I will be buying at least one more tube of this color, I can see me going threw it quickly!  Reel Sexy while in the tube looks very orange, when you put it on the lips it is a nice medium coral color with a nice sheen, the finish on this is an amplified formula. The last lipstick I picked up is Silly and while I love this bright pink color, it feels so drying on my lips and was patchy. This is a matte finish, but I notice is more drying then other mattes I have 

had before from Mac.

This collection is beautiful and has a full range of lipsticks, glosses, eyeshadows and powders. I plan on picking up a few more items since I feel it will be around awhile. New Too Faced Sugar Pop

If you're into super cute packaging then Too Faced is definitely going to be one of your top makeup favs! They never fail to impress me with their adorable packaging and their high-quality products.  When I saw that Too Faced was having a brand-new summer line and Sugar Pop palette was one of the items on the summer line, I knew it would be something I'd have to pick up. What stood out to me is how colorful the palette is and how it just has that summer feel! The Sugar Pop palette is available online at toofaced.com and Ulta.com and will hitting stores and Sephora soon. It retails for $36 and worth every penny!

The Sugar Pop palette comes in a tin case that opens magnetically, it is very sturdy. It is a nice compact size that would be perfect for travel or to throw in your purse for on the go. If you're familiar with Too Faced at all, the packaging is the same as their other palettes this size. The outside is decorated with colorful macaroons and is just so sweet and cute! This case will last a long time, even when all of the makeup is gone I will be able to keep this case. When you open up the palette there is a beautiful display of nine colors. The eyeshadows are divided in three different looks. The looks Too Faced created starting with the top row are: Sweet and Spicy, middle row Sugar Plums, and the last row is Candy Coated. When you open the pallet they have included a glamour guide to help you achieve these looks. You don't have to limit yourself there; this palette can offer you countless other looks!  Once you take out the glamour guide, you are left with a nice sized mirror that is perfect for you to apply your make up.

The eyeshadow colors are,

Rock Candy- is a beautiful brow bone color or all over lid color. It is a creamy-nude-bone shade with light specks of glitter.

Macaroon- is a very unique color; it looks like an orange-peachy-coral and again with little flecks of sparkle but nothing too overwhelming.

Malted Milk Ball- would be a great transition shade or even crease color. It is a gold tone brown and the slightest amount of shimmer that reflects off the light.

Strawberry Ice- is a very light pale lilac color with undertones of white. This color is gorgeous and one of my favorites!

Sugared Violet-is the only color in my opinion that is lacking in pigmentation. It is a periwinkle color that is purple with blue undertones. I wish this one had more color payoff because it would have been stunning.When swatching this color I did have to swipe about four times. The color on the swatch is much righter then how it transferred to my eyelid.

BlackBerry-is a beautiful deep plum color. This shade would be perfect for an outer-v and cease color. It really can help darken up looks.

Peach Fuzz- is another great neutral; this one does have a little bit more sparkle and shimmer. Especially once it hits the light! This is more of a cream colored peach.

Bubblegum-is a beautiful bright pink with the flecks of shimmer. This pink has a blue undertone and definitely lives up to its name!

Blue Raspberry-this is my favorite color out of the palette and what caught my eye first.  It is a bright teal and a color I have never seen before in any other collection. It reminds me of a robin’s egg.

As with other Too Faced eyeshadows, these are quite pigmented. I have not experienced any fallout when applying or swatching them. Even the light colors come off bright and vivid. Like I said earlier, the only color that I'm a little bit disappointed is with Sugared Violet. If you apply the shadows with an eyeshadow base they really pop! Most of these shades do have shimmer in them, so if sparkle and shimmer are not your thing, you may not love this palette. I personally have to use another palette or matte eyeshadow while using this palette because I do need a matte transition shade. It isn't anything serious that would steer me away from the palette though. I like how Sugar Pop has some neutral colors and the bright fun summer colors. The eyeshadows are long wearing, only thing I did notice is after about four hours of wear that Blue Raspberry did begin to fade and I had to touch it up. This was the only shade that I experienced this with.

I am really enjoying this palette and it doesn't surprise me considering Too Faced is my absolute favorite high-end makeup brand and they have never failed me. I’m sure this will become one of my favorite pallets for summertime!  If you’re looking for a new palette for summer or want to brighten up your look then I would recommend it. If you’re scared of color I would still recommend this because you could just use the bright colors as a pop of color along your bottom lash line. Has anyone else picked up this palette?
