Happy Father’s Day! Gifts for Dad-

In about a week it is going to be June! June makes me think of summer- my son’s birthday, school being out, BBQ parties, swimming, flip flops and Father’s Day! I have a busy summer planned and thought I would get a head start on Father’s Day gifts!

Fragrancenet has so many different items to choose from and since my husband collects cologne it was my first stop! Kentucky Derby- The Winning Bet- my winning scent! Prada Candy Florale and Versace Bright Crystal

My husband and I have many traditions, one that I look forward to every year is betting on the Kentucky Derby which we have done every year since we have been together. We go to the Casino to place our bets and watch all of the other people get excited to see their horse run around the track! It is a very intense couple of minutes. It never fails, every year we always see a group of older woman in their Kentucky Derby outfits complete with their extravagant hats.

When you see people on the TV at the Kentucky Derby they are always dressed beautifully and so spring like. One of my favorite things about the Kentucky Derby is seeing the fashion and all of the different hats in the crowd! I always feel like the final touch to any outfit is perfume. Perfume finishes off any look and makes a woman feel beautiful and feminine. This brought me to thinking about-what would the perfect scent be for The Kentucky Derby?! After thinking about it the two perfumes that are my winning choices are Prada Candy Florale and Versace Bright Crystal!  I know without a doubt they will pay off big and be a winner for any woman!

Prada Candy Florale-

This is a perfume I have wanted for a long time! I had a sample of it and was instantly memorized with the floral scent with a sweet undertone. This scent is for someone who loves flowers and candy, both of which you can smell while wearing this. Prada Candy Florale screams summer and lifts my mood whenever I wear it! The notes are-

Sparkling Cedrat, Bouquet Of Cosmos, Benzoin, Caramel, White Musk.

The bottle is beautiful with baby pink and gold lettering. Even the box matches with adorable flowers! One of my favorite things about the packaging is how evenly the perfume sprays out.

I took so long to get this perfume because it is pricey whenever I looked at it in Sephora. Versace Bright Crystal-

This was one of the first perfumes my husband bought me and for a few months the only scent I 

would wear! I constantly got compliments whenever I wore this to work and even got a couple of girls to buy their own bottle. With that being said it is no surprise I went through my entire bottle and it has always been on my list to get again! When I was thinking about my winning scents for the Kentucky Derby this came to mind right away! 

Versace Bright Crystal is a perfume for any age. You know how some scents can be a little too young and over powering being too sweet or to “grandma-ish” and smell so strong you get a head ach. This scent is sweet and fruity, it’s just enough of an aroma that you can smell it when you enter a room but nothing that will leave you feeling like you can’t breathe. The notes are-

Iced Accord, Yuzu, Pomegranate, Peony, Magnolia, Lotus Flower, Acajou, Vegetal Amber, Musk.

Of course I love this packaging it is all about stunning crystal and the perfume shining through is a pretty pink! The box it comes in is white, pink with sliver lettering. It looks so luxurious!

Both of these scents are perfect for the Kentucky Derby theme because they are high end, classy with a floral spring scent! When I think of the Derby I automatically think of class and sophistication and the outdoors. This weekend is the Kentucky Derby and even if I don’t win the race, Prada Candy Florale and Versace Bright Crystal are the winning scents!

(I had a nice beach day with my husband and son yesterday and that is where I took my pictures! Thought it would be fun to switch it up!)

Mother’s Day- Daisy’s for Mom!

As a mommy of two I always look forward to Mother’s Day! It’s a day just for Mom! My children and husband always go out of their way to make sure my day is special and for the last couple of years since my children are older, it always starts off with breakfast in bed made my kiddos (last year it was ants on a log, you remember those right?! Celery, with peanut butter spread inside and raisins on top!) I don’t know what it is but the simplest of things are always the best made by someone you love! With breakfast always comes with flowers and presents! The rest of the day usually is relaxing, just spending the day with my family and going out to dinner. I love Mother’s Day!

I don’t know about you but I enjoy getting flowers but I always tell my husband “don’t waste your money on flowers, they just die” and this got me thinking….what would the perfect Mother’s Day gift be? Then it dawned on me perfume that smells like flowers! So, that brought me to getting on my computer and scrolling through fragrancenet.com! I came across Marc Jacobs section and saw all the different types of Daisy perfumes he has! Daisies are my favorite flower, I love flowers, love the smell of flowers, love perfume….ahh I am just in love! Right away I put Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream and Daisy Delight on my list! What could be more perfect? Flowers that you can wear and smell all day long! Let’s hear my thoughts on each scent!

Daisy Dream-

Marc Jacob never disappoints me with his super cute girly packaging! This bottle has little white daisy’s all over the bottle and the cap. The actual perfume is baby blue and makes the pretties accent to the bottle. It makes me instantly think of a field of daisy with clear blue skies! It comes with an adorable matching box. The perfume has a fruity florally scent the notes are-

Blackberry, Grapefruit, Pear, Jasmine, Lychee, Blue Wisteria, White Woods, Musks, Coconut Water.

Daisy Dream is so dreamy (haha like that?!) long lasting, with a fresh scent. This will quickly become a favorite for spring and summer, maybe even my signature scent for the warmer months!

Of course I got mine off fragrencenet because it’s a no brainer; they always have the best deals! Daisy Delight-

What drew me to Daisy Delight I must admit was the packaging! It is a clear bottle, and the cap has pink and teal daisies on it! Pink and teal were my wedding colors, so of course that means anything with those colors I need to have! When I got the perfume and smelt it I was impressed! Just like with the entire Daisy Collection I was hooked! It smells fresh, light and flirty! The notes are-

apple, quince, freesia, gardenia, peony

Again this scent is long lasting and nothing over powering, it just melts into your skin and throughout the day can smells hints of flowers! It is memorizing.

You can’t go wrong with either of these scents but if I had to choose which one I liked best it would be Daisy Dream! This entire line from Marc Jacobs is quickly becoming some of my favorite scents and I want to collect them all!

I think any mom would adore either of these perfumes! Instead of bringing your mom or wife a bouquet of flowers, bring her a couple of perfumes, which cost just the same as those flowers but will last her so much longer. Every time she sees the perfume bottles on her vanity or wearing the fragrance she will instantly think of you!

Grace & Stella Co.-Brown Sugar and Coffee Scrub

The warmer months are upon us and you know what the means, cute summer clothes! Well at least for me! I love the warmer months and being able to wear my dresses with no tights but this means I need to self-tan and pay special attention to my skin, especially on my legs and arms since they are exposed  after being hidden in the winter months.

One of the most important steps in taking care of your skin is exfoliating.  I love a good scrub! It is perfect for prepping your skin for self-tanning. Getting rid of all that old dead skin and bringing forth your healthy soft skin. For the past week I have been using Grace & Stella scrubs! Twice a week I have used their coffee scrub and everyday using their Brown Sugar Scrub. Want to know my thoughts? Keep reading!

Coffee Scrub-

Opening this scrub I instantly was intoxicated with the scent! It is delicious and you just want to rub it all over your body! I have used this scrub several times in the shower just like I would any other scrub by wetting my skin, taking a scoop of the scrub and rubbing it in circular motions. I could feel it working instantly and getting the dead skin off my body. I let it sit on myself for about 5 minutes. After rinsing the scrub off, my skin felt so soft and rejuvenated!

One of the benefits of the coffee scrub is supposed to help with cellulite! I haven’t noticed any difference yet, but I will say my skin feels so soft after I step out of the shower and put my lotion on. While exfoliating it doesn’t hurt me like some other brands I have tried. It has also helped with some dry patches I was experiencing.  The Coffee Scrub gets rid of all the gross old skin on my body. My skin does look more beautiful and smooth!

I am going to keep using the scrub a couple of times a week and see if I do see improvement with things like my cellulite and stretch marks.

Brown Sugar Scrub=

This might be one of my favorite scrubs I have ever tried! You know one of the reasons why? It is safe to use every day! It is quick and easy to use, right in the shower I just use a small handful of the scrub, and massage it into my skin and rinse off. There really is no scent but you are left with the smoothest skin ever! It is made with certified Organic Shea Butter and I think this must be the magic ingredient because my skin has never felt so smooth! Here is some information taken from their website-

After using this scrub I feel clean and like my skin is summer ready!

Both of the scrubs I am truly amazed by! They made my skin so soft and more visibly smooth. They are going to be perfect throughout the summer months. They help prepare my skin for self-tanner by removing the old tanner and prepping my skin to apply new. Plus, I don’t have any dry patches on my skin anymore since using these scrubs!

I have also used the Coffee scrub on the bottom of my feet so I can have sandal ready feet! I plan to continue using the Brown Sugar scrub daily to have super soft skin and the Coffee Scrub once to twice a week when I need a deeper exfoliation treatment. I am extremely fond that the products are natural. I also adore how the scrubs are packaged with the easy to open tops that close tightly and stay fresh!

Pop Princess Scents- Britney Spears Curious Heart and Ari by Ariana Grande

There is no denying it I am a HUGE Britney Spears fan! Since I was 16, I’ve loved her! I owned all of her CD’s, had her posters on my wall I even had her hair style! Now at 32 my love is still strong for Britney and one of my favorite Pop Princesses! Now, that I have a daughter of my own one of her favorite Pop Princess is Ariana Grande and I adore her to! Her music is uplifting and fun and who doesn’t love old reruns of Victorious or Sam and Cat?!?!

I knew Britney and Ariana both had perfumes and thought it would be fun to do a blog post on both of their scents!

Britney Spears- Curious Heart

I already owned the “original” Curious by Britney Spears and use to be my go to scent back in 2008! I was really hoping I would enjoy Curious Heart just as much and I was pleasantly surprised! It smells similar to Curious but has a little more of a vanilla smell which is perfect for me since I am drawn to the sweet smell of vanilla!

The packaging is girly and pink and just screams Britney! The box the perfume comes in is pink with hearts on it. The actual perfume bottle has the same unique shape as Curious and comes with an atomizer which gives it an added touch of class. The actual design on the bottle made me automatically think of Ed Hardy! It is baby pink with hearts with wings and a banner with the name of the perfume and the atomizer is a pretty bright pink!

The notes are- Louisiana magnolia, golden Anjou pear, lotus flower, tuberose, star jasmine, pink cyclamen, vanilla-infused musk, sandalwood and blonde woods.

The design of the bottle is great, nothing leaks and the perfect amount comes out with each spray from the atomizer. It has a light crisp sweet scent that is long lasting! Extremely long lasting for me actually I could still smell it on myself at the end of the day after I put it on around 7am. Pretty impressive! If you like vanilla and flowers, this would be your scent!

The gift set is packaged beautifully in a light pastel pink box with a mirrored name plate saying “Ariana Grande” and once you open up the box you see the full sized perfume, the mini perfume and the full sized lotion.  The perfume bottle is the cutest! It is even has an adorable white pom-pom and the bottle looks and feels luxurious. The little mini perfume looks the exact same as the full sized bottle minus the pom-pom. The lotion bottle is super girly in the colors white, lavender, pink and gold! Just an overall stunning collection!

The actual scent is sexy and fun and extremely feminine. It is sweet, with hints of floral, fruit and the best part marshmallow! You literally smell delicious when you wear this perfume! 

The Fragrance Notes are-

Top: Crispy pear, pink grapefruit, juicy raspberry

Heart: Soft muguet, rose buds, vanilla orchid

Drydown: Marshmallow, creamy musk, blonde woods

This is a very sweet smelling perfume but nothing over powering. It smells very young and fresh. The lotion matches the perfume perfectly and has a great thick texture. This scent is not as long lasting as 

Britney Spears Curious Heart but if I had to choose which scent I like more I would pick Ari by Ariana Grande!

Both of these scents really bring out the Pop Princess in all of us! They not only smell amazing but are so pretty to display and add to your collection!

Can you believe it is March 1^st?!?! Spring is right around the corner and it is my FAVORITE time of the year! The beautiful flowers, the bright pastel colors, being able to wear dresses all the time, new handbags, newly released makeup and of course the best spring scents!

So this past weekend the weather was amazing! 60’s sunny and warm! Today we are getting hit by a snow storm! Oh lovely mid-west living haha! The snow isn’t bringing me down today though because I know Spring is almost here and had me thinking about what the best scents are for this amazing season and my picks are- Viktor& Rolf Flowerbomb, Marc Jacobs Daisy and Coach Poppy!

All of these scents are fun, girly and floral.  They really make me get into the spring mood! When I think about Spring I think about flowers and the warmer weather, every single one of the perfumes I chose fit that theme and just makes me in a happy mood when I wear them. Viktor& Rolf Flowerbomb

This has to be one of the perfumes I have wanted to try the most in a long time! I have heard literally nothing but good reviews on flowerbomb! Is it worth the hype?! The answer to that question is YES! It is totally worth the hype!

The scent is so yummy and rich. It has a very unique smell and the longer you wear it the better it gets! It is one of those perfumes that just ties together your outfit and makes me feel put together!

No doubt Marc Jacobs Daisy is the perfect spring scent! I mean besides the bottle screaming SPRING with its cute little daisy’s on the cap, this perfume just smells like a warm spring day with flowers in the breeze! I love the sweet floral smell. It instantly lifts my mood and it is something you can wear either day or night!

Coach Poppy has been a perfume I have wanted for a long time! Whenever I got samples of it I would just bath in the perfume because it smells so good! It reminds me of a floral bouquet with beautiful fresh flowers. It is said that Coach Poppy “possesses a blend of Sweet, Aquatic, Powdery, Vanilla, and And Citrus.” It is spring in a bottle!
