I finally got my first #VoxBox from @influenster and it was the YSL VoxBox! I received this box for testing purposes and have been using it for the last couple of weeks and felt I could finally make a honest review.

In my VoxBox I received the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector and Touche Elcat Blur Primer. Both are in absolute stunning packaging! I love how the Touche Eclat Blur Perfector has the baby pink packaging and both have the gold accents, it makes it look very classy and beautiful! Both of these products you can get at Sephora, the Touche Eclat Blur Perfector retails for $55, and the Touche Elcat Blur Primer retails for $52 for 1oz.

When I first got these two products I was so excited! I love primers and having my skin look flawless! Primers always help me so I am able to start my face by having a clean canvas before beginning my makeup. I was really hoping these two products would be amazing!

I will start off with the Touche Elcat Blur Primer. This primer is intended to prep your skin before you start your makeup with your foundation, powder etc. You put it on before putting on your foundation and this is exactly what I did.  It is said that this primer should help blur your imperfections and I have found this to be true. It is a clear gel like formula and you only need to apply a tiny amount. There was no smell at all and felt velvety on my skin, the primer spreads on evenly and very nicely. It dries quickly and I did not notice any stickiness.

While wearing this primer I noticed that it did make my skin look more even and helped with my foundation application leaving my face look smoother and my pores less visible. I noticed in the bottle it looks like there are little gold specs in the primer but once on the skin I did not look like a sparkly mess and didn’t notice any shimmer. I really enjoy using this primer and it works well. I felt like my skin looked better versus not wearing any primer at all. It lasted all day long but after about 4 hours of wear in-between my eyebrows I did have a lot of shine. My makeup did last longer wearing this primer as it usually does with any primer I wear. I would recommend this primer if you have the $52 dollars to spend on it. I felt it still did not work as well as my Becca or Smashbox primer but would be something I do like to use occasionally, For the price though I don’t see myself wanting to use it every day but more trying to save it. I would rather use my $30 dollar primers for everyday use and save this for special occasions.

Next up is the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector. This is what I was the most happy to start using since the compact was so absolutely gorgeous! This is a blur perfector the starts off as a balm and dries into a powder. You can you use it a few different ways as it states on the Sephora website “Use it alone as an allover complexion perfector, to set makeup, or as a mattifying touch up to sweep away shine and hide imperfections. Featuring one universal shade that complements all skin types, it instantly minimizes the look of pores so that skin feels smoother and the complexion appears more even.”

I tried it alone and it worked great! It made my skin look and feel so soft and just putting a powder over it made my skin look smooth, matte, and even. Using it this way though just felt more like a primer and I wanted to see what it would be like to use to set my make up or as a touchup while out during the day.

Using it to set my makeup was a total miss and fail! It was actually disgusting! I did all of my makeup complete with the Touche Elcat Blur Primer, foundation, powder, contour, blush, highlight and all my eye makeup and lipstick. I used the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector after all of that to “set my makeup” and all it did was breakup my foundation! It was an absolute mess! It looked like chunks of my makeup were missing and kind of like my face looked scaly and uneven. All of the makeup that was on my nose totally broke up and I was left with huge patches of missing makeup! I had to wipe off my face makeup and start the entire process over! Complete and total fail there!

The next day, I was actually quite disgusted with the product.  I didn’t even want to use it but made myself so I could see what it would work like as a touchup throughout the day. I wanted to see if it made my T-Zone matte since in the summer that is where I notice most of my shine. After about 2 hours I noticed some shine so I tried the compact out and it worked pretty well. It did break up a tiny bit on my nose but if I applied more of the product it evened itself out. After about 6 hours my makeup was wearing off a bit and I was shiny, I used the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector and this is when the product worked perfectly! I had to use quite a bit and blend it but it made my face look way more matte, smooth, and even. I was impressed! It looked like I just finished my makeup! The one thing that I really do not like about the Blur Perfector is how the applicator sponge does not fit into the compact! It is so unsanitary, sure they give you a pouch but that just gets dirty and who wants to carry around the applicator separate in their purse? I really think they should have thought this through.

So, all in all, I love the Primer but the Blur Perfector is hit or miss. The Primer I have no complaints about and would most likely repurchase. The Blur Perfector works well as a base or if you don’t plan on wearing much makeup throughout the day. Using it to set your makeup just ruined my makeup but waiting until the end of the day to “touch up” my makeup the Blue Perfector was amazing! I don’t see myself repurchasing the Blur Perfector because it works the same as just a setting powder.

I am really happy and honored I was able to receive these items to try and review! I look forward to reviewing more for Influenster in the future!
