Gorgeous Cosmetics....truly gorgeous!

One of the best things about social media especially Instagram is the beauty community and finding new companies and products you never heard of! I found out about a company called Gorgeous Cosmetics and one look through their profile I knew they were just that, "Gorgeous"! I had to try their products and do a review! What I chose from Gorgeous Cosmetics is their foundation, Romance Smokey Eyes eyeshadow palette, two Colour Flash Glitters in Icicle and Mardi Gras and their Glitz Fix Adhesive! Let's get on to my thoughts!

Foundation-

I have been using this foundation for about the last week and I have to say I really like it! I love the coverage that it provides and how long lasting it is. It does come off a little yellow on me and the shade is not a perfect match. That doesn't have anything to do with the product, just more of the shade that I selected. We all know how hard it is to pick the perfect shade from your phone screen! The foundation has a pleasant scent to it; it smells like a like perfumed lotion. I personally love it because I think it smells clean and fresh. My husband on the other hand hates it! The first day I wore it and he came home and kissed me, he backed away then, came back towards my face and smelt my face and said I smell "makeup-ey" Haha I found it funny that he actually noticed the scent! The smell is all personal preference but it is something that lingers on your skin,

The foundation works great with every primer I have tried besides my YSL primer, with that one it broke up in areas around my mouth and nose after about two hours of wear. Pairing the foundation with my Dr Brandt Pores No More was my favorite combination, there was no breaking up on my face, no oxidizing and lasted around 6-7 hours. What I noticed about this foundation that I love is that it doesn't make my skin look oily! I am able to layer the foundation to achieve full coverage. Overall I'm happy with it; I would love it if the color matched me better!

Colour Flash Glitter in Icicle and Mardi Gras and their Glitz Fix Adhesive

This was fun to try! I'm not huge into glitter but thought with the holidays right around the corner it would be perfect! Boy was I right! The Colour Flash Glitter is stunning! Icicle is a pretty sliver and Mardi Gras is a bright pink. Both are extremely fine loose glitter (I did use it on my eye lids with the Glitz Fix Adhesive) which worked perfectly together!

I did my eye makeup like normal then applied the Glitz Fix Adhesive on top of my eyeshadow. It did not smudge my shadows at all or make a mess. It doesn't feel gooey like other glitter glues I have tried in the past either. I let the Glitz Fix Adhesive sit for a couple of seconds then applied the glitter with a brush, I let it sit for a few more seconds until I felt it was dry, applied my liner and mascara and was good to go! I was amazed how well the glitter stuck to the Glitz Fix! I experienced minimal glitter fall out which I just brushed away easily with a powder brush.

Throughout the day the glitter stayed on with no fall out. There was absolutely no cracking or caking up of the Glitz Fix. Honestly this stuff is amazing together and I now want all of the glitters! This is better than the Too Faced glue and that was a favorite! When I washed my face before bed, everything was easy to remove with eye makeup remover. This is by far my favorite combo and products I tried from Gorgeous Cosmetics!

Romance Smokey Eyes Eyeshadow Palette-

Wow!! These shades in the Romance Smokey Eyes Eyeshadow Palette are stunning! While looking on Gorgeous Cosmetics website, I was instantly drawn to this palette! You have warm and cool toned, dark and light shades. Four colors and it's enough to make an entire eye look! I usually have to add in other palettes to create a look, not with this though, you have a great under the brow shade, crease color, lid and under the lash line! You can even switch it up for multiple looks! The case it comes in is travel friendly and the shadow sizes are large! This will last me a long time. The colors are pigmented, no fall out and last all day long with no fading. My favorite color is the palette is the Dusk Rose!

I am so impressed with this brand! Everything is top quality products, including their customer service and shipping! They have many products to choose from, something to fit everyone's needs! I defiantly recommend Gorgeous Cosmetics! Have you ever tried anything from their line? If so, what was your experience?

New PUR Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation- Review and swatch

It is undeniable that I am a foundation junkie! Out of all of my makeup I go through, my eyebrow pencils and foundation are used the most! I love a good foundation that gives you that perfect base and makes you look flawless! When I received the entire line of the BRAND NEW Pur Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation I could barely contain myself opening the box!

Told you I was a foundation junkie!!

There are 5 colors in the line; they are Light, Medium, Tan, Dark, and Deep. Right now I am extremely pale since it is winter but happy I will have the darker shades for summer, and to mix to make my perfect shade. The name says it all with this foundation, it’s extremely hydrating! As it should be, it is made with water from the Swiss Alps.  Some key ingredients are- encapsulated water complex, Ceretin Complex, and vitamin E.

I have been using this foundation for about a week and I am amazed by the Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation! It has been leaving my skin feeling so hydrated, healthy, and luminous! I do not like looking greasy and I was nervous when I first felt the texture of this because of how it felt “watery”

I thought it was going to be very thin and extremely light coverage. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it blends into my skin while covering all of my imperfections! I was not expecting it to cover so well! I would say this is medium coverage and buildable. What I enjoy about it is how it doesn’t feel like you are wearing anything! I felt like I had no makeup on but with silky smooth, dewy pretty skin!

For application I read- “Apply 2 to 3 drops of foundation to the face with the Liquid Chisel Brush. Buff into skin in a circular motion. Layer for additional coverage.”  I do not own the Liquid Chisel Brush so I just applied it like my regular foundation; I put a few drops on each side of my face, chin, and forehead and used my stippling brush, and lightly went over it with my beauty blender to blend it all out. I have tried this foundation with one and two layers. For an everyday look I would recommend one layer.  I personally like a fuller coverage look, so two layers is perfect for me!

The foundation does not crease, but it does get a little oily on my T Zone, if you have been reading my blogs you know this is an issue with my skin all the time! Setting powder helps with this and makes the foundation last even longer!  I did not experience any type of patches or separating throughout the day. I usually go for a matte foundation and this is not matte at all, you can achieve a more matte look with powder. The formula is thin and a little goes a long way! Believe me when I say this, just a few drops of this and your face will be completely covered. The applicator is nice and disperses out just the right amount of product. A huge benefit of this foundation is that it helps smooth, firm, and lift your skins appearance and provides antioxidant benefits!

This has been perfect for my dry winter skin by giving me the extra needed hydration.  I can see this also working nicely in the summer since it is so lightweight and you won’t feel like you are sweating it all off.  

I would recommend this foundation to anyone, I think it would suit all skin types and if you can’t find an exact match, you can always try mixing a couple together. Although it seems to just melt into your skin and match myself perfectly. When I swatched it I thought the color might be too dark for me, but it worked out perfectly!

Chalet Cosmetics- NEW Makeup and Skin Care Brand

There is an up and coming new Makeup and Skin Care brand out and it’s called Chalet Cosmetics! I have had the pleasure of trying several items from this new brand and I am here today to share my thoughts! First thing I noticed about Chalet Cosmetics is how user friendly their website is (http://chaletcosmetics.com). It is organized by each category and the layout for a new company really caught my attention!

Chalet Cosmetics has so many different products, they have items for your body, a full line of makeup and skin care! You can totally pamper yourself all in one spot! From self-tanner, foot cream, eyeshadow, lipstick, eyeshadow, under eye cream, to Face Lift in a bottle! You literally can take care of all of your beauty needs all at once! Another thing I automatically noticed is how adorable the packaging is! Everything is pink and white stripes with accents of gold! So cute!

Today, I will be reviewing their best selling Chalet Pumpkin Powder with Matipure®, a lipgloss, and a couple of samples I received which includes their beauty balm, Quench Me moisturizer, and Serious C eye cream, Let’s get to the fun part!

Chalet Pumpkin Powder with Matipure®

When I found out I was going to be trying this Pumpkin Powder out for some reason I thought it was going to be like a body powder that smelt like pumpkin, which I was pretty excited about since I absolutely love anything pumpkin! After looking on the website I found out it was actually a face powder and this made me even more anxious to try it! Powder is something I cannot live without; it’s one of those “top items I would take on a Deserted Island with me.” What really intrigued me about this Pumpkin Powder is the Product Description which I will take right off the website so you can see what I mean-

“Outsmart Shine! Pumpkin Powder with Matipure is changing the game in the way of makeup. This lightweight powder provides flawless coverage and an immediate matifying action. The break through technology is the first of its kind, a unique patented formula that works efficiently as a system to continuously absorb oil without drying the skin.  Matipure keeps working for hours so your skin looks fresh even at the end of a humid San Antonio day. How incredible does this sound?! My personal experience after using this last week is I am amazed! It gives me such an even coverage, absorbs all of my oils, and keeps me matte for about 6 hours! If you’ve read my other reviews you know I have pretty normal skin but an oily T-Zone and this powder has helped keep that under control. I use it just like a setting powder, I apply it using a big fluffy brush but it does come with its own sponge applicator, this comes in handy when you are out and don’t want to carry a brush with you. The powder comes in a sleek black compact which includes a large mirror. The best part is that the sponge applicator is separate from the actual powder so there are no worries about mixing the applicator with the sponge. The powder comes in the shades Porcelain Princess, Milk & Honey, Golden Goddess and retails for $38 dollars. The color I am in is Golden Goddess.

This Chalet Pumpkin Powder reminds me a lot of Too Faced foundation powder. The Pumpkin Powder has no scent and is so long lasting! I have worn this every day since I have received it and only had to do a touch up a couple of times and that was about after 6 hours of wear. It helped keep my other makeup in place and I also think helped my blush and bronzer last longer on my skin. I am highly impressed with this powder!

Chalet Pout Polish

The next product I have been using is the Chalet Pout Polish, this is their lipgloss. The color I have loved is Pink Shimmer! This lipgloss is truly beautiful and super pigmented, it is not sheer at all and you can even build up the color! You are able to wear it alone or over a lipstick. It does not feel sticking at all, gives me a nice shine, and lasts about 3-4 hours. The packaging is extremely cute and girly, I love the gold touch and the applicator is easy to use and doesn’t get stuck or messy. My only issue with this gloss is the smell is a bit weird, I can’t exactly explain the scent but it is nothing that you can smell once you apply it to your lips. So, it’s not a deal breaker for me.

This lipgloss is available is 21 shades (Clear, Candlelight, Golden Glow, Peach Souffle, Butterscotch, Champaigne, Pearl, Bunny, Summertime, Pink Shimmer, Orange Sherbert, Bikini Martini, Lavendar Mist, Rain, Rosewine, Stilleto, Berry Berry, Grenadine, Brick, Bronze Glimmer, Fudge Crème) and retails for $21.50.

Chalet Clear Beauty Balm

I also received the Chalet Clear Beauty Balm, this product is a “multi-tasking Primer, moisturizer, and anti-wrinkle peptides in one product.” The beauty balm contains Peptides, Fruit Extracts, Vitamins A & E. This is the only product I am not a huge fan of. I used this on my face and I did notice that it left my skin feeling softer and more hydrated. The beauty balm did not feel greasy and dried fast.

My issue is once I applied my makeup after using this beauty balm it broke my foundation up a bit on my right cheek. I used it normally like I would any other primer.  I applied it on my clean face, let it dry, and applied my foundation and other face makeup. Only in one area did it break my makeup up and it was on the right side of my cheek. I was left with a patch of my foundation missing even after trying to blend and adding more foundation to “fill the missing spot.” It was like my makeup would not go on in that one area. I did not experience any breaking up anywhere else on my face and my makeup stayed put all day with no separating.

Since it takes me about two hours a day to get ready with my hair and makeup and I do not have extra time to take off and reapply makeup when I am rushing, I only used this as a primer one time so I don’t think it’s fair if I say I don’t like the product since I haven’t been able to try it again. This has happened with other primers I have used in the past and I usually just have to mix two primers together to make it work. This beauty balm has no scent, is clear, and made my skin feel very soft; I think for myself, I would use this more as a moisturizer since it is anti-wrinkle. This product is Paraben free, cruelty free, and retails for $36 for 2 oz.

Chalet Oil Free to Quench Me

The Chalet Oil Free to Quench Me is a nice light moisturizer and is said to help clear blemishes with daily use. I haven’t had any blemishes while using this but it did leave my face feeling nice and hydrated with no sticky feeling. There is no scent and just felt nice to use on my face. It contains “Aloe, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Cucumber, Rosemary, and Green Tea extract. 79% Organic. (calculated as per USDA Organic calculations) and Is Paraben free, cruelty free” I used this everyday at least once a day for the last week and still have a lot left! A little goes a long way! You can get this for $38.00 for 2 oz.!

Chalet Serious C for Eyes

Chalet Serious C for Eyes, this is the sample I adore! Serious C for eyes is serious! I applied it on the area around my eyes and it felt so nice and soothing, It helped with the puffiness around my eyes and I even think helped me look more awake. This is something I need to order a full size of because with prolonged use it says it can help with “puffiness, sagging skin, stubborn dark under eye circles, wrinkles, and crow`s feet.” With me being 32, these are all of the issues I worry about! The Chalet Serious C for Eyes contains “Vitamin C, Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber, Licorice and Eyebright, plus Sodium Hyaluronate to moisturize the eye area.” This retails for $35 for 0.5oz.

Overall I am a fan of Chalet Cosmetics, the packaging is so cute and the products are high quality! The Pumpkin Powder is one of the best I have tried and will totally be a repurchase. The variety of products they offer all in one brand is outstanding. They have such a large range and something to meet everyone’s needs. They all are made with high quality safe products and their customer service is top notch. All of their products are cruelty-free, paraben-free, and environmentally friendly! Plus they are made is the United States!

I really want to try their eyeshadows and self-tanner. There is just so much you can chose from! This coming from a new brand is impressive and I don’t think I’ve seen so much at once. I think this is a brand everyone should at least try one product from, plus it will look so pretty on your vanity to show case! I also received a pretty pink beeswax candle that smells heavenly and filled my room with super sweet goodness!

YSL Black Opium-influenster YSL VoxBox

I received another Influenster VoxBox! This time it’s my YSL VoxBox that included the YSL Black Opium perfume! I did receive this fragrance complimentary for testing purposes but my review on this scent is entirely my own opinion.  Just so you know, you can also get free items to review by joining influenster. It is free, easy to use, and fun to join! Now, let’s get onto the fun part…..my thoughts!

I got the YSL Black Opium in 0.25 fl oz, it’s a nice sized sample and perfect to just throw into your purse. When I first saw it, I honestly thought it was for men. While it was pretty, the packaging is very masculine. It is in an all-black bottle with specs all over it, kind of reminds me of concrete. My bottle does not have a spray top, you have to tap it on but you can purchase a spray bottle. I looked on the Sephora website and you can get your own YSL Black Opium in 4 different sizes (0.33 oz. for $25. 1oz for $67, 1.6 oz. for $90 or 3 oz. for $115) on the website. It does say all of these bottles are spray bottles.

The actual scent of Black Opium is delicious! It smells very girly, sexy, seductive, and rich to me! It is a mixture of flowers, coffee, and vanilla all tied up in one. It’s soft yet strong enough to be noticed but not over-powering. While wearing this, I did get compliments and my husband loved it! He even asked while we were out that day “mmn, what is that your wearing, your new perfume?”  I know if he notices, then it is GOOD! This perfume reminded me of the perfume from back in the day that you could buy at the drugstore called, Exclamation…..does anyone remember that haha? That use to be one of my favorites!

My YSL Back Opium lasts for hours! Even after I wore it all day, the scent still stayed on my clothes! Personally, I love this perfume and could see myself asking for a bigger bottle as a holiday gift. This perfume even won an Allure Best of Beauty award! I can totally understand why, it is fun, flirty, and you smell good all day long!

NEW Too Faced Love Palette- Review and Swatches

Too Faced Love Palette 

My all-time favorite eye shadow palette and the only palette I have ever hit pan on is the original Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I absolutely love Too Faced formula of their eye shadows and I usually pick up most of their palettes. So, of course I had to get their new Love Palette and I am here today to share my thoughts!

Without a doubt, the packaging is super cute and fun. It has the theme of Love Letters and automatically makes me think about Nicholas Sparks! I love Nicholas Sparks and Too Faced so I had to have this palette! So it’s a given I love the look of the palette but what about the actual product? For starters this palette comes with 15 different shades with different finishes, which include matte, pearl, and shimmer finishes and comes with a full sized black waterproof eyeliner. You can purchase this on HSN, Too Faced, Ulta, or Sephora websites and it retails for $49 It should be hitting stores around July 15th.

The eye shadows are very detailed with heart textures and come in three different polygons, with of course 5 shadows in each. The names of each section are Pure Love, True Love, and Forbidden Love. I feel each section can create different looks from day to night and have an arrangement of colors, something for your lid, crease, and highlight. You can mix and match from each section to come up with a ton of looks! As always, Too Faced has added a Glamour Guide that can help you create looks. I personally just make up my own looks and never use the guides, but they are good to have if you’re just beginning or want to try something new.

The packaging is very sturdy and strong but does feel a bit heavy. There is a large mirror inside the palette and behind the mirror is where the Glamour Guides are stored. They have different looks for each section.  I love this change they made, helps keep you more organized and keeps the glamour guides free from dirt and eyeshadow residue. The names of the eye shadow colors are on the bottom of the palette for easy reference. I really like this concept, it is way better than how they had the Chocolate Bar Palette with the clear sheet.

I appreciate how Too Faced included the full size black water proof eyeliner and I have enjoyed using it! I am an Urban Decay eyeliner girl and only thing I use on my water line but for the last week I have been using this Too Faced eyeliner and it works well. It is an intense dark black color which is right up my ally! One side of the eyeliner has the actual product and the other side a smudger. The eyeliner stays in place all day under my waterline, but actually inside my waterline it did get patchy and I had to reapply it at least once threw out the day. I had no irritation and the color intensity is beautiful. The eyeliner is creamy and the smudger worked nicely under my waterline. I don’t think I would replace my UD eyeliner with this one but I am happy to have it added to my collection and a nice backup.

Now on to the fun part the actual eyeshadows!

Section one- Pure Love

Dearest- beautiful yellow-gold shade

Cherish- soft champagne shade with shimmer

Desire-love this for crease color and blending, it’s the perfect browny color

Amorous- great shade to smoke out any look, a deep brownish black color, very buildable

Adore- bronzed orange shade, absolutely stunning!

The waterprood eyeliner is also pictured in the swatch as you can see it is a very dark bold black

Section Two- True Love

Passion-purple/mauve gray toned color

Smitten- a light baby pink but this shade was very powdery for me and not much color payoff.  When applied almost blended completely away.

Romance- another great crease and blending shade, beautiful taupe color

Obsessed- this is my favorite shade out of the palette, while in the pan it looks lighter then Amorous it is actually darker and great pigmentation. It is a rich brown with specs of a variety colors. I am literally obsessed with this color!

Sweetie Pie- very pretty bubble gum pink shade

Section Three-Forbidden Love

Darling- medium green/gold color, this is the color that caught my eye in the palette. I like how this color has a lot of dimension to it and how the different light catches different colors.

Devotion- this color is truly unique, the color in the pan looks like a light shimmery gold but once on your eyelid or swatched it is like a mix of a sliver, gold and white. Stunning as a highlight

Puppy Love- another taupe brown color but this one has more shimmer to it

Ever Lasting- deep brown color but I can see specs of green in this shade

XOXO-this could have been a beautiful color if it would show up on my eyelid, this is the only shade I had issues with it is a very faint iridescent peach/orange shade

How cute are the names of the actual eye shadows?! The eye shadows are creamy, soft and easy to blend. They have a lot of pigmentation and long lasting. My only issue is there are so many shimmery shades. I would have liked to see some more matte colors in the palette. All of the shades on the lower part of the sections are probably my favorite and while not extremely pigmented they are buildable. I found myself using those shades the most for creating a smokey eye and smoking out my bottom lash line. The two colors that I had issues with are Smitten and XOXO, neither of these came off very vibrant on my eyelid. Some of the shadows come off a little powdery in the pan but I personally did not experience any fallout from any of the eye shadows when applying them to my eyelid. I like how Too Faced mixed up this palette with neutral and darker shades, then added in some fun colors! The green color Darling is just that DARLING! It is stunning and will be great to use in fall. As always, I use a primer when applying the eyeshadows, usually my Mac Paint Pot and the eye shadows didn’t budge all day long. There was slight fading but I did not have to reapply. I do want to point out that all of these eye shadows are extremely buildable, while they may not come off vibrant when you first apply the shadows, adding several layers creates a bold color.

I think I will reach for this palette a lot! While using the Love Paleete I did not add any other palette in. I was able to create looks without adding in other eye shadows from various palettes or single eye shadows. There are enough colors to make a large variety of looks. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and pleased with Too Faced!
