Flawless Face- Dior Star Foundation using Color Me Automatic Foundation Applicator

foundation makeupmess from my Instagram @adrienneroyale

I think it is safe to say I LOVE MAKEUP! If you have seen my Instagram page @adriennroyale I am sure you agree with me! My favorite products to buy are blush and lipsticks without a doubt, but what are my FAVORITE products to actually use and go through the most? Number one would be foundation! I am always on the search for a great foundation because you need a good base on your face to look flawless!

You can have beautiful eyebrows (we all know how this is the craze right now!), eye shadow and lipstick but if your skin doesn’t look smooth and without great coverage your look is not going to be fully put together!

I had the pleasure of being contacted by Edith from www.WeMakeBeauty.com which is an e-commerce shop offering a large selection of luxury beauty products at great prices! She let me pick out an item from their website and I chose the Christian Dior Diorskin Star Studio Foundation in 020 Light Beige 1oz. This was a hard choice considering they have so many different products to choose from!

Let me start off by saying this foundation is amazing! I have been using it every day since I have gotten it; this is a medium to full coverage foundation. I like to do two layers so it is a full coverage foundation for me. The first thing I noticed about this foundation is the smell, it has a strong perfume fragrance which doesn’t turn me off but if you are sensitive to smell you might want to keep that in mind. It is nothing that lasts throughout the day. You smell it when you first put it on but it fades right away.

Dior Skin left my skin looking even which is what I adore the most! All of my dark circles, redness and spots I have on my face were not even detectable! The foundation is a more of a satin finish. It left no oily residue and looked absolutely beautiful alone or with a setting powder!

My face did not look cakey at all and it lasted about 10 hours with no creasing! I did notice around my nose area a little bit of redness showing through after about 6 hours of wear. The formula is not thick nor is it runny which is a nice happy medium. I love the packaging and the easy to use pump helps disperse out the right amount of product. A couple of pumps all over your face and you have beautiful skin! What is amazing is this foundation is SPF 30! You do not find that often with foundations!

Overall I am highly impressed with Dior Skin! This foundation retails for $50 but on We Make Beauty it is only $48.95.  You can see it here at  http://www.wemakebeauty.com/Christian-Dior-Diorskin-Star-Studio-Foundation-p/cd77885-020.htm and wait, it gets better! You can get 15% off with my coupon code Adrienne15! You can use it on anything on the site! The customer service was great and shipping was super fast!

Now that I told you about this amazing foundation, let me tell you how I apply it! Chase from Color Me asked if I would like to try out their Color Me Automatic Foundation applicator and I have seen it buzzing around social media and always thought what a cool invention it is!

This device is a foundation applicator that is automatic, you do not have to sit there and buff the foundation or powder into your skin, the device does all the hard work for you! Their website says- “Discover the secret to makeup that’s flawless in a flashTM.  With 250 sonic taps per second, Color Me allows women to tap on their foundation and powder just like the professionals do. The result: smooth, award-winning coverage that lasts all day”

This device is easy to use and even gets into all the hard to reach places like around your nose and eyes! So what exactly is it and how do I use it you may be asking?

Well, what I have been using is their kit which includes-

1 Applicator Device
1 Universal Coverage (Powder or Liquid) Sponge
1 Natural Coverage Sponge for Liquid Foundation
1 CR2032 Battery

Once, I got it all I did was pull out the little plastic piece to make sure the device worked and turned on which it did! YAY! I started with my face clean and primed and then I dotted a bit of my foundation all over my face and some on the sponge applicator (you can either apply your foundation right to the sponge or your face, it’s up to you.) I wanted to make sure for my first few times that the applicator sponge was “seasoned” with my foundation. After I dotted my foundation, all I did was press the button and the device started to work instantly. I started at my cheeks and gently did sweeping motions going outwards towards my forehead and jawline. My foundation went on so quickly and more evenly than with a beauty blender or brush! It blended my foundation seamlessly! Plus it was mess free and I didn’t have to use any other tools!

Back of device
When I use brushes I will notice streaks but not with this tool! I do love my beauty blenders but some days I am so lazy and don’t want to wet it and if I use a dry beauty blender I feel like it just leaves me looking a little cakey and so much product gets soaked up in the sponge.

You can also use this device with powder but I have not tried that yet and think this will basically be used with just foundation for me. The sponges are latex-free and hypoallergenic (Suggested replacement every 7-10 uses for sensitive skin. Sponges last up to 30 days if patted with alcohol or an alcohol-based cleaner or wipe after every few uses. Do not soak.)
"Seasoned" sponge with extra sponge applicator

When I first saw this device I admit I thought it was pretty gimmicky but I am pleasantly surprised at how flawless it made my face look and how easy and quick the application was! Not to mention how smooth and even my makeup looked on my skin! I am hands down a beauty blender girl but this device is a game changer for me!

I found the Color Me Automatic Foundation applicator on their website http://www.colormebeauty.com/products/automatic-foundation-applicator-universal-starter-kit#tab4also I have seen it at Ulta.

For a flawless looking face the Dior Star from We Make Beauty and The Color Me device are my perfect pair! What is your secret to your face looking flawless?

New PUR Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation- Review and swatch

Makeup of the day using my new foundation from my instagram @adrienneroyale

It is undeniable that I am a foundation junkie! Out of all of my makeup I go through, my eyebrow pencils and foundation are used the most! I love a good foundation that gives you that perfect base and makes you look flawless! When I received the entire line of the BRAND NEW Pur Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation I could barely contain myself opening the box!
Told you I was a foundation junkie!!

There are 5 colors in the line; they are Light, Medium, Tan, Dark, and Deep. Right now I am extremely pale since it is winter but happy I will have the darker shades for summer, and to mix to make my perfect shade. The name says it all with this foundation, it’s extremely hydrating! As it should be, it is made with water from the Swiss Alps.  Some key ingredients are- encapsulated water complex, Ceretin Complex, and vitamin E.
Swatches- Light, Medium, Tan, Dark, Deep

I have been using this foundation for about a week and I am amazed by the Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation! It has been leaving my skin feeling so hydrated, healthy, and luminous! I do not like looking greasy and I was nervous when I first felt the texture of this because of how it felt “watery”

I thought it was going to be very thin and extremely light coverage. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it blends into my skin while covering all of my imperfections! I was not expecting it to cover so well! I would say this is medium coverage and buildable. What I enjoy about it is how it doesn’t feel like you are wearing anything! I felt like I had no makeup on but with silky smooth, dewy pretty skin!

For application I read- “Apply 2 to 3 drops of foundation to the face with the Liquid Chisel Brush. Buff into skin in a circular motion. Layer for additional coverage.”  I do not own the Liquid Chisel Brush so I just applied it like my regular foundation; I put a few drops on each side of my face, chin, and forehead and used my stippling brush, and lightly went over it with my beauty blender to blend it all out. I have tried this foundation with one and two layers. For an everyday look I would recommend one layer.  I personally like a fuller coverage look, so two layers is perfect for me!

The foundation does not crease, but it does get a little oily on my T Zone, if you have been reading my blogs you know this is an issue with my skin all the time! Setting powder helps with this and makes the foundation last even longer!  I did not experience any type of patches or separating throughout the day. I usually go for a matte foundation and this is not matte at all, you can achieve a more matte look with powder. The formula is thin and a little goes a long way! Believe me when I say this, just a few drops of this and your face will be completely covered. The applicator is nice and disperses out just the right amount of product. A huge benefit of this foundation is that it helps smooth, firm, and lift your skins appearance and provides antioxidant benefits!

This has been perfect for my dry winter skin by giving me the extra needed hydration.  I can see this also working nicely in the summer since it is so lightweight and you won’t feel like you are sweating it all off.

I would recommend this foundation to anyone, I think it would suit all skin types and if you can’t find an exact match, you can always try mixing a couple together. Although it seems to just melt into your skin and match myself perfectly. When I swatched it I thought the color might be too dark for me, but it worked out perfectly!

This is out on PUR website at-

It will be available at Kohl’s and Ulta on February 7. 2016 and will retail for $39 dollars. Thank you PUR for allowing me to review the New PUR Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation!

Who plans on trying this out? What is your favorite foundation?

NEW Too Faced Love Palette- Review and Swatches

Too Faced Love Palette

My all-time favorite eye shadow palette and the only palette I have ever hit pan on is the original Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I absolutely love Too Faced formula of their eye shadows and I usually pick up most of their palettes. So, of course I had to get their new Love Palette and I am here today to share my thoughts!

Without a doubt, the packaging is super cute and fun. It has the theme of Love Letters and automatically makes me think about Nicholas Sparks! I love Nicholas Sparks and Too Faced so I had to have this palette! So it’s a given I love the look of the palette but what about the actual product? For starters this palette comes with 15 different shades with different finishes, which include matte, pearl, and shimmer finishes and comes with a full sized black waterproof eyeliner. You can purchase this on HSN, Too Faced, Ulta, or Sephora websites and it retails for $49 It should be hitting stores around July 15th.

Inside of palette

The eye shadows are very detailed with heart textures and come in three different polygons, with of course 5 shadows in each. The names of each section are Pure Love, True Love, and Forbidden Love. I feel each section can create different looks from day to night and have an arrangement of colors, something for your lid, crease, and highlight. You can mix and match from each section to come up with a ton of looks! As always, Too Faced has added a Glamour Guide that can help you create looks. I personally just make up my own looks and never use the guides, but they are good to have if you’re just beginning or want to try something new.
Glamour Guides

The packaging is very sturdy and strong but does feel a bit heavy. There is a large mirror inside the palette and behind the mirror is where the Glamour Guides are stored. They have different looks for each section.  I love this change they made, helps keep you more organized and keeps the glamour guides free from dirt and eyeshadow residue. The names of the eye shadow colors are on the bottom of the palette for easy reference. I really like this concept, it is way better than how they had the Chocolate Bar Palette with the clear sheet.

I appreciate how Too Faced included the full size black water proof eyeliner and I have enjoyed using it! I am an Urban Decay eyeliner girl and only thing I use on my water line but for the last week I have been using this Too Faced eyeliner and it works well. It is an intense dark black color which is right up my ally! One side of the eyeliner has the actual product and the other side a smudger. The eyeliner stays in place all day under my waterline, but actually inside my waterline it did get patchy and I had to reapply it at least once threw out the day. I had no irritation and the color intensity is beautiful. The eyeliner is creamy and the smudger worked nicely under my waterline. I don’t think I would replace my UD eyeliner with this one but I am happy to have it added to my collection and a nice backup.

Now on to the fun part the actual eyeshadows!

Section one- Pure Love

Dearest- beautiful yellow-gold shade
Cherish- soft champagne shade with shimmer
Desire-love this for crease color and blending, it’s the perfect browny color
Amorous- great shade to smoke out any look, a deep brownish black color, very buildable
Adore- bronzed orange shade, absolutely stunning!

The waterprood eyeliner is also pictured in the swatch as you can see it is a very dark bold black

Unedited swatches colors are from bottom to top- Dearest, Cherish, Desire, Amorous, Adore

Section Two- True Love

Passion-purple/mauve gray toned color
Smitten- a light baby pink but this shade was very powdery for me and not much color payoffWhen applied almost blended completely away.
Romance- another great crease and blending shade, beautiful taupe color
Obsessed- this is my favorite shade out of the palette, while in the pan it looks lighter then Amorous it is actually darker and great pigmentation. It is a rich brown with specs of a variety colors. I am literally obsessed with this color!
Sweetie Pie- very pretty bubble gum pink shade

Unedited swatches colors are from top to bottom- Passion, Smitten,,Romance, Obsessed, Sweetie Pie

Section Three-Forbidden Love

Darling- medium green/gold color, this is the color that caught my eye in the palette. I like how this color has a lot of dimension to it and how the different light catches different colors.
Devotion- this color is truly unique, the color in the pan looks like a light shimmery gold but once on your eyelid or swatched it is like a mix of a sliver, gold and white. Stunning as a highlight
Puppy Love- another taupe brown color but this one has more shimmer to it
Ever Lasting- deep brown color but I can see specs of green in this shade
XOXO-this could have been a beautiful color if it would show up on my eyelid, this is the only shade I had issues with it is a very faint iridescent peach/orange shade
Unedited swatches colors are from bottom to top- Darling, Devotion, Puppy Love, Everlasting, XOXO

How cute are the names of the actual eye shadows?! The eye shadows are creamy, soft and easy to blend. They have a lot of pigmentation and long lasting. My only issue is there are so many shimmery shades. I would have liked to see some more matte colors in the palette. All of the shades on the lower part of the sections are probably my favorite and while not extremely pigmented they are buildable. I found myself using those shades the most for creating a smokey eye and smoking out my bottom lash line. The two colors that I had issues with are Smitten and XOXO, neither of these came off very vibrant on my eyelid. Some of the shadows come off a little powdery in the pan but I personally did not experience any fallout from any of the eye shadows when applying them to my eyelid. I like how Too Faced mixed up this palette with neutral and darker shades, then added in some fun colors! The green color Darling is just that DARLING! It is stunning and will be great to use in fall. As always, I use a primer when applying the eyeshadows, usually my Mac Paint Pot and the eye shadows didn’t budge all day long. There was slight fading but I did not have to reapply. I do want to point out that all of these eye shadows are extremely buildable, while they may not come off vibrant when you first apply the shadows, adding several layers creates a bold color.

Makeup mess featuring the Love Palette from my IG @adrienneroyale

I think I will reach for this palette a lot! While using the Love Paleete I did not add any other palette in. I was able to create looks without adding in other eye shadows from various palettes or single eye shadows. There are enough colors to make a large variety of looks. Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase and pleased with Too Faced!

What are your thoughts on the New Too Faced Love Palette? Have you gotten it yet? Let me know your thoughts!

The new Too Faced Love Flush blush in Justify My Love- Review and Swatch

Too Faced makeup mess featuring the new Love Flush Blush and Love Palette on my Instagram @adrienneroyale

Too Faced has done it again! Brought us the cutest new blushes and new eyeshadow palette out this season! There should be no wonder why Too Faced is my favorite makeup brand, not only is their packaging super cute, their products are excellent, high-quality and my newest additions to my Too Faced collection definitely did not disappoint!

I picked up the new Love Flush blush in Justify My Love and the stunning Love Passionately Pretty Eyeshadow collection. I was able to order these off the HSN website before they were even released on Too Faced website or any stores! Woowhooo score! I have been using each of these products for the last couple of weeks so I thought now would be a good time to share my thoughts on them.

Sweetheart blushes and new Love Flush blush in Justify My Love

I knew as soon as I saw the packaging of the new Love Flush blush it would be something I would totally want. These blushes are marketed to be long-lasting 16 hour wear! Pretty impressive! There are 6 different shades, which are Baby Love, Justify My Love, I Will Always Love You, Love Hangover, How Deep Is Your Love, and Your Love Is King. I only picked up one so far since I wanted to try one out before I went ahead and collected them all. Of course I chose the one that was the prettiest pink.
Packaging blush and palette came in

Outside of packaging of the blush and palette

My first impression of this blush was “Whooooa this is TINY!” I was expecting it to be around the size of the Soul Mates bronzers since it is such similar packaging but instead of the black packing, each blush package matches the color of the blush inside the package. The packaging is in a heart shape, compact and can go with you anywhere. Actually it is bit refreshing since the last packaging of the Sweetheart Blushes were large and bulky. I love how the package is shaped like a heart with the pretty “Too Faced” gold writing! Once you open up the blush (which I should mention is quite hard to open and can be a bit annoying) you have a nice sized mirror. The product is gorgeous and so detailed! The two little bunnies are way too cute! The blush was everything I thought it would be besides the size. I was pretty hung up on that, but quickly got over it once I flipped over the package and saw the blush is 6.0g. While the Sweetheart Blushes may look like they have more product, they actually don’t, they only have 5.5g. I was relieved, considering I have had my Sweetheart Blushes for months and barely looks like any product has been used!
Comparison in size of the Too Faced Soul Mates Bronzer and Love Flush Blush

While using the actual blush, it comes off as a beautiful bright pink and has tiny little gold sparkles in it. The sparkles are not extremely noticeable, but do give you a nice shimmer finish. I heard the blush was supposed to smell like candy, this is not really the case for me. Nothing strong like the chocolate smell you get from their chocolate line. I can smell a faint “candy-like smell” but also smells slightly like Play-Doh to me. The smell doesn’t bother me, but it is not a selling point like the Chocolate Bar Palettes. The blush is a bit powdery but there is ton of color pay off and very pigmented. I can’t tell you if it lasts a full 16 hours because I haven’t had my makeup on that long, but definitely does last longer than 8 hours. I didn’t have to do any type of touch-ups and there wasn’t much fading.

Love Flush blush in Justify My Love

Overall I love the blush and it was silly of me to say that I wanted to try one out before I picked up any others for my collection, because who am I kidding, I now want them ALL! My next purchase will totally be the shade Love Hangover! Besides being a bit difficult to open and the slight scent there are no downfalls with this blush. I have seen these blushes available now on HSN, Sephora, and Ulta and retail for $26.  I still have not seen these in store but I am sure they will be hitting shelfs soon! If you’re a blush addict like me, make sure to pick-up one of these beauties and let me know your thoughts on them!
