How to get pretty, healthy, chip free nails!

I love doing my nails and change them once to twice a week. You will never see me without my nails and toe nails done and I own over 500 bottles of nail polish! I think it’s safe to say I am a nail polish junkie!

I like my nails to be long and healthy, but over time wearing fake nails or acrylic I notice my nails can take a beating. They will chip and become brittle. This makes it hard for my nails to grow! For the last couple of weeks, I have been using DeMert Brands Develop 10 system both their Calcium Gel and Argan Cuticle Oil I have seen such a difference in my nails that I had to come jump on my blog and write a short review sharing this with you! For a finishing touch to my nails, I have also been using the DeMert Nail Enamel Dryer.

I tried all of these products on myself and my daughter who is 12.  I mostly wear acrylic nails while hers are natural and she ends up having to paint her nails several times a week because they always chip in a day, regardless of the brand of nail polish!

Almost two weeks ago is when we started using the products. First we got all of our old polish off and buffed our nails.  I applied the Calcium Gel that comes in a standard nail polish bottle and you just put it on your nails like a normal nail polish. There is a slight smell to it but nothing overwhelming just like a regular polish. We applied it to our nails and let it dry for a few minutes. Next, we applied two coats of our desired nail polish color, let that dry, and finally another coat of the Calcium Gel as a top coat.  A couple of minutes later I sprayed on the DeMert Nail Enamel Dryer about 5 inches from our nails. Once our nails were dry, I massaged the Argan Cuticle Oil onto our cuticles.  Every 3-4 days since we did our manicure, I have reapplied the Calcium Gel Nail Thickening formula and every night before bed the Argan Oil to our cuticles.

I wanted to let you know exactly what our process has been and what works for us. Let me tell you about these results! It has been at least a week and a half and neither I nor my daughter has had to redo our nails! They are completely chip free and SO SHINY and strong feeling!

Neither of our nails are splitting or look damaged! Our cuticles look healthy and have no little hang nails, plus they are moisturized which is nice with the winter weather! The Nail Enamel Dryer really sealed our nails and helped with the drying speed. It does smell but nothing bad. It reminds me of baby powder and just sprays out like hair spray.

My daughter’s nails have experienced the best results and she has raved to me how much she loves these products! She has even told her friends! Her nails are stronger, while her nail polish has not chipped.  I know it’s because the products really seal your nails and help thicken them! The Calcium Gel is going to help us grow our nails out nice and long since it helps protect and make our nails harder and stronger.

Honestly, these have been some of the best nail products I have ever used! I am blown away by these products and their results. I love how my cuticles aren’t peeling and my manicure has never lasted this long! It is truly amazing! I will be using these products every time I do my nails from now on!

Skin Care for Dry Winter Skin- Guerlain- Secret De Purete Cleansing Foaming Cream and Abeille Royale Preparing Toner

 I’ve never suffered from dry skin ever in my life! Actually, I am fortunate and haven’t had any skin issues besides an occasional pimple here and there. Since moving to the freezing Mid-West I have noticed in the winter my skin becomes dry. This last year I have developed a weird sensitivity, out of nowhere when using new products, my face will become extremely itchy and red. This happened with a new contour palette, several face washes, another toner, and even a concealer that I have used just in the last 6 months! I’m not sure if this is what it’s like getting older but I’ve found myself nervous at times to use new products on my face. I have been on the hunt to find a great cleanser and toner to help beat this dry winter skin and think I have found my gems! That is what I want to share with you today!

 Guerlain Secret De Purete Cleansing Foaming Cream ( Smoothes & Illuminates )

I have been using this twice daily, for over a week. After each use I like this product more and more. I want to start off by saying that when I wash my face with this I have already removed all of my eye makeup with my Clinique eye makeup remover. I do however have all of my face makeup still left on my skin.

The foaming cream comes in a luxurious white bottle with gold accents. I really like how easy the packaging is to use, you just press the pump and out comes the foam. Once the foam comes out it has quite a strong scent. I find the scent refreshing and pretty, so it doesn’t bother me, but if you are someone who doesn’t love a perfume smell to your facial wash this might be a bit “heavy” for you.

The texture of the foam is very soft and quickly turns into a rich, creamy foam lather. You can mix it with water or put it on your face dry, either way works.  I find one pump is enough for my face and I add in another pump for my neck area. The foam cream immediately washed away all of my old face make up and dirt and it rinses off so easily! When I have a lot of makeup on, I will put the foam on my face dry. This way feels like it is working harder and really getting rid of any dirt and old makeup on my face. In the mornings, I use this in the shower when my face is wet and works just as good. This is just more of your personal preference.

After using Guerlain Secret De Purete Cleansing Foaming Cream, my skin feels so smooth and clean! It does not dry out my skin and that was my main goal. My face has felt so hydrated and luminous. I do not have any dry patches on my skin at all! The foam is gentle on my skin, light weight, and not harsh at all. It literally feels like a cream with foaming bubbles.

Guerlain Abeille Royale Preparing Toner

Ohh mii goodness! Let’s stop for a minute!! Abeille ROYALE Preparing Toner!! Do you see my middle name?! Ok, so I instantly fell in love with this and felt it was made for me because, well hello, it has my name on it! I barley ever see anything with my name on it! Although, I did just have a “Royale” sandwich which I totally hated! So I guess just because it has my name in it doesn’t mean I will end up loving it….but with this toner I totally do love it!

Since I can remember starting my face wash routine when I was in middle school, my mom always bought me toner. I used it but never really understood why I had to use it. Did you know toner's function is to complete the cleansing of your skin?! It helps remove any leftover dust, pollution, or yucky impurities that can still be on your skin after washing with a face wash.

With that being said, it is important to use a toner. I have used the same old Clean and Clear toner for YEARS and I like it. There is nothing wrong with it, it’s a great price, and makes my skin feel fresh. I can pick it up anywhere and it’s a no brainer. Now after using this though, I am really questioning myself on what other toners have I missed out on! Whoa Guerlain Abeille Royale Preparing Toner is just in a whole other ball park!

The bottle is exactly the same as the foaming Cream and also has the same type of pump to disperse the product. What I really fancy about this toner is how it is nothing like your typical clear watery looking toner. It feels a bit thicker and creamy and it also has a slight white tint to it. Again, this toner does have a perfume scent to it but it is very faint and quickly disappears.

It is said this toner doesn’t just help complete cleansing your skin but it also helps with firming your skin and wrinkle correction as well. I apply this after every face wash and only need a full squirt for my entire face and neck area. When I first used this toner, I used a cotton ball to apply it but the product got soaked up to quickly so I tried a cotton pad. I didn’t really like it and felt like I wasn’t getting the full effect I should be. Since it is thicker and creamer then the toner I was recently using I wanted to actually feel that creaminess on my skin. The next time I used the toner and every time after I just squirt the product from the pump on my clean hands and rub it all over my face and neck. I let it absorb into my skin.  This happens quickly and it leaves no filmy residue at all.

My skin feels so hydrated right away! Not 5 minutes, 2 minutes, or even 22 seconds later! RIGHT away! This is what shocks me! My skin looks so fresh, feels soft, and extremely clean! I haven’t noticed any difference in my wrinkles but it has only been a little over a week.

Before I would just use my toner because that is what I was taught to do, with Guerlain Abeille Royale Preparing Toner I can actually feel a difference in my skin and how rejuvenated it is!  I totally recommend that you make this toner an essential part of your daily face routine, the benefits can be felt and seen instantly!

I have not experienced any type of redness or drying since using these products on my semi sensitive skin. I don’t think either product would fight against acne. If that is what you’re looking for this would not be for you.

My skin feels so much more hydrated since adding this to my routine! These two products have really helped with my winter dry skin and I am so happy I came across them!

New PUR Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation- Review and swatch

It is undeniable that I am a foundation junkie! Out of all of my makeup I go through, my eyebrow pencils and foundation are used the most! I love a good foundation that gives you that perfect base and makes you look flawless! When I received the entire line of the BRAND NEW Pur Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation I could barely contain myself opening the box!

Told you I was a foundation junkie!!

There are 5 colors in the line; they are Light, Medium, Tan, Dark, and Deep. Right now I am extremely pale since it is winter but happy I will have the darker shades for summer, and to mix to make my perfect shade. The name says it all with this foundation, it’s extremely hydrating! As it should be, it is made with water from the Swiss Alps.  Some key ingredients are- encapsulated water complex, Ceretin Complex, and vitamin E.

I have been using this foundation for about a week and I am amazed by the Hydra Fluid Water Serum Foundation! It has been leaving my skin feeling so hydrated, healthy, and luminous! I do not like looking greasy and I was nervous when I first felt the texture of this because of how it felt “watery”

I thought it was going to be very thin and extremely light coverage. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it blends into my skin while covering all of my imperfections! I was not expecting it to cover so well! I would say this is medium coverage and buildable. What I enjoy about it is how it doesn’t feel like you are wearing anything! I felt like I had no makeup on but with silky smooth, dewy pretty skin!

For application I read- “Apply 2 to 3 drops of foundation to the face with the Liquid Chisel Brush. Buff into skin in a circular motion. Layer for additional coverage.”  I do not own the Liquid Chisel Brush so I just applied it like my regular foundation; I put a few drops on each side of my face, chin, and forehead and used my stippling brush, and lightly went over it with my beauty blender to blend it all out. I have tried this foundation with one and two layers. For an everyday look I would recommend one layer.  I personally like a fuller coverage look, so two layers is perfect for me!

The foundation does not crease, but it does get a little oily on my T Zone, if you have been reading my blogs you know this is an issue with my skin all the time! Setting powder helps with this and makes the foundation last even longer!  I did not experience any type of patches or separating throughout the day. I usually go for a matte foundation and this is not matte at all, you can achieve a more matte look with powder. The formula is thin and a little goes a long way! Believe me when I say this, just a few drops of this and your face will be completely covered. The applicator is nice and disperses out just the right amount of product. A huge benefit of this foundation is that it helps smooth, firm, and lift your skins appearance and provides antioxidant benefits!

This has been perfect for my dry winter skin by giving me the extra needed hydration.  I can see this also working nicely in the summer since it is so lightweight and you won’t feel like you are sweating it all off.  

I would recommend this foundation to anyone, I think it would suit all skin types and if you can’t find an exact match, you can always try mixing a couple together. Although it seems to just melt into your skin and match myself perfectly. When I swatched it I thought the color might be too dark for me, but it worked out perfectly!

YSL Black Opium-influenster YSL VoxBox

I received another Influenster VoxBox! This time it’s my YSL VoxBox that included the YSL Black Opium perfume! I did receive this fragrance complimentary for testing purposes but my review on this scent is entirely my own opinion.  Just so you know, you can also get free items to review by joining influenster. It is free, easy to use, and fun to join! Now, let’s get onto the fun part…..my thoughts!

I got the YSL Black Opium in 0.25 fl oz, it’s a nice sized sample and perfect to just throw into your purse. When I first saw it, I honestly thought it was for men. While it was pretty, the packaging is very masculine. It is in an all-black bottle with specs all over it, kind of reminds me of concrete. My bottle does not have a spray top, you have to tap it on but you can purchase a spray bottle. I looked on the Sephora website and you can get your own YSL Black Opium in 4 different sizes (0.33 oz. for $25. 1oz for $67, 1.6 oz. for $90 or 3 oz. for $115) on the website. It does say all of these bottles are spray bottles.

The actual scent of Black Opium is delicious! It smells very girly, sexy, seductive, and rich to me! It is a mixture of flowers, coffee, and vanilla all tied up in one. It’s soft yet strong enough to be noticed but not over-powering. While wearing this, I did get compliments and my husband loved it! He even asked while we were out that day “mmn, what is that your wearing, your new perfume?”  I know if he notices, then it is GOOD! This perfume reminded me of the perfume from back in the day that you could buy at the drugstore called, Exclamation…..does anyone remember that haha? That use to be one of my favorites!

My YSL Back Opium lasts for hours! Even after I wore it all day, the scent still stayed on my clothes! Personally, I love this perfume and could see myself asking for a bigger bottle as a holiday gift. This perfume even won an Allure Best of Beauty award! I can totally understand why, it is fun, flirty, and you smell good all day long!

Makeup Eraser- Is it worth the Hype?!

The title says it all, Makeup Eraser- Is it worth the Hype?! WOW!! Was I ever pleasantly surprised! I first want to start out this blog post with something that I think is very important! I am NOT paid to make this review and was sent this Makeup Eraser from Kmitch Makeup Eraser and only asked to post it on my Instagram @adrienneroyale but as soon as I actually used this I felt I had to make a blog post! I just want to start off by saying this, because I have heard so many mixed reviews and I myself always wonder if the “good ones” are sponsored or paid for. This blog post I can assure you is not, and is my own personal opinion and just keep in mind products work differently for everyone, so just because something works for me it might not for you, or vice versa.

When I was reached out by @beauty rebelz  to try the Makeup Eraser I agreed,  because I have heard so many different reviews, some super good and some horrible and I wanted to try it for myself! The countless ads and videos always intrigued me. Remember, a video on Instagram is only 15 seconds and half of them the girls look like they are tugging at their eyes and it looks like the Makeup Eraser would be painful. I have had friends tell me they love it and some say they hate it and so not worth the money. So, I was super excited to try it and honestly didn’t think it would work or if it did work it would hurt me.

I got my Makeup eraser, took my picture for my Instagram, then washed it, so I would actually be able to use it and see how I liked it The directions state to wash it before using it for the first time. I had all of my makeup on the entire day, I am talking full face- primer, foundation, bronzer, blush, lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara you know tons of makeup like I wear daily (yes, you can call me a cakeface that doesn’t bother me) I wet my Makeup eraser with warm water and I did notice it took quite a while to get the cloth to soak up the water. The directions state to get the cloth drenched so that is just what I did, I think this is the most important step. Making sure the cloth really is really wet. Once I had it drenched and squeezed it out, I started with my eyes and my makeup came off so smooth, it was just like using a makeup wipe. I wiped my entire face using circular motions, paying special attention to my eye area and did go over it a couple of times (I wear a lot of eye makeup so even with a makeup wipe I have to go over it several times). I then flipped over the clothes to the “exfoliate” side and went over my face a couple of more times.

All of my makeup washed off! WHAT?!?!  I couldn’t believe it, I seriously couldn’t! I had to text my husband and friend right away and show them the picture of the cloth because my husband was even more skeptical then I was! He was like “Wow, I didn’t think it would work” my friend Brenda told me I should do a post if I liked it, so that’s exactly what I am doing!  I didn’t have to pull at my eyes and my face didn’t turn red like I thought it would. The cloth is very soft and feels nice on my face. I didn’t experience any type of reaction and have used it twice.

I know this retails for $19.97 (website www.kmitchmakeuperaser.com) and the claim is that it helps save money, cut back on non-biodegradable waste and live chemical free. I totally agree with it being chemical free and cutting back on waste. It does save you money not having to buy makeup wipes but you do have to wash it. I personally can’t keep using a dirty cloth time and time again, and I certainly don’t do laundry daily. I used the cloth twice and feel I should wash it now before I use it again. It is a nice sized cloth so if you just want to use a small section at a time it could be used maybe 5 times at most. For me though, I would want to wash it at least every two uses. It is perfect if you can use it a few times and throw it in the load with your towels. Just for myself, I will have to wash it more often then I regularly do my laundry. I read on the website it is good for at least 1000 washes.

Personally, I can’t believe I am saying this but I would pay the $20 for it! I feel like it worked so well and some makeup wipes give me irritation and it gets very costly to always having to buy them. I’m sure I will still use makeup wipes but not every day! Just on the days my makeup eraser isn’t washed and I am being lazy and don’t feel like washing it haha.

After using the Makeup Eraser all of my makeup was off, but my face didn’t feel completely clean and I did wash it afterwards like I normally would with my face wash. This doesn’t bother me because regardless if I was using makeup remover wipes, after I get my makeup off, I always wash my face afterwards. Overall I am so impressed with this little pink cloth and I love it! It is amazing how skeptical I was of this product but ended up loving it and knowing I will continue to keep using it!
